Type 3 DOT Silt Screens
Floating Silt Barriers for Government Projects
Type 3 DOT Floating Silt Screens are manufactured from a blend of permeable and impermeable fabric, designed to contain silt while still allowing water to steadily flow through the barrier. Perfect for areas with increased silt buildup, long term projects or high flows, these floating silt screens work to keep sites in compliance.
Type 3 DOT Silt Screen Curtains are available in standard section lengths of either 50 ft. or 100 ft. with a standard depth of 5 ft. For areas with increased depths, silt curtains are also commonly built with depths ranging anywhere from 3 ft. to 100 ft.

Type 3 Silt Curtains: HD Models
For longer term control in moving water areas, Type 3 silt curtains are also available in a Heavy Duty model. These turbidity curtains feature an impermeable 18 oz. or 22 oz. fabric for a stronger and effective containment around your job or construction site.
Salt Water Conditions
Any time you are implementing a floating silt barrier in salt water oceans or lakes, it is recommended that your barrier features Stainless Steel Cables and Zinc Anode Components. These components offer a higher resistance to corrosion, which is common with extended salt water use. If you are working on a short term project, standard galvanized components will work in salt water areas for a period up to 12 months.
