Floating Type 1 Turbidity Curtain

FAQ: Do You Stock Type 1 Floating Turbidity Barriers?

Triton Type 1 Floating Turbidity CurtainQuestion: I am looking to buy a floating turbidity curtain. Type 1 should be OK. The area I am working in is fairly calm and the job should only take a couple of weeks. Do you have any turbidity curtains in stock?

Answer: The first thing that we would need to know regarding your turbidity barriers is the length and depth that you are needing in your location and the type of Type 1 Turbidity Curtain that is required. Standard sizing for these curtains will include sections that are either 50 or 100 feet in length and 5 feet in depth.

However, if you are dealing with a location that has a particularly deep water area, we do also make curtains to depths anywhere from three to one hundred feet (3' to 100'). Additionally, while turbidity curtains are available in typical lengths of either 50 or 100 feet, several sections are often joined together to extend the barrier to required lengths around your location.

Type 1 Turbidity Curtain Specifications

floating type 1 turbidity curtainAs you have mentioned, the Type 1 Turbidity Curtain is an excellent choice for applications requiring use in calm water locations. This has included use in small lakes, ponds, construction areas and more.

In general, the type 1 turbidity curtain is made in two different models:

  • Type 1 Economy: The Type 1 economy curtain is designed as a low-cost curtain for areas looking for temporary containment in areas that do not require a DOT approved item.

  • Type 1 DOT: The DOT model is built to meet or exceed regulations and requirements set by the DOT (Department of Transportation).

We do often have several sections of these items in stock for quick transportation to your location. Please note that if you are planning on using this barrier for applications involving moving water or waves, you may want to consider using either our Type 2 or Type 3 turbidity curtain.
