Aquatic Plant Boom
Invasive Aquatic Plant Control
For some locations, aquatic plants are an invasive species that requires constant containment and control. In order to help with this process, GEI Works offers a robust Aquatic Plant Boom that can be placed around plants to increase protection, exclude species from protected areas and direct plants to an appropriate collection point. This process can help contain plants and ease the process of removal or weed control.
With debris barrier models that can work in moving water or calm water areas, these booms can be a great addition to any invasive plant control requirements.
Standard Boom Models
Depending on the requirements of your location, booms may also include a bottom skirt that will extend down towards the bottom of a water location. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or specifications for your booms.
Where have Aquatic Plant Booms been used?
Aquatic plant barriers have been implemented in a wide range of locations to help contain plants to a specific area. Some of their most common locations have included the following:
- Boating Locations
Since many of our booms will vary depending on the containment duration and intended use area, please be sure to let us know what the water conditions are like in your location. In particular, we would need to know if there are any currents, waves, or tides in the area and how long the boom would need to remain in place.
Invasive Aquatic Plants
Due to the demanding nature of aquatic plants, booms have been implemented for control of multiple invasive plants, including the following:
- Water Hyacinth
- Water Lettuce
