What Materials are Used for your Permanent Booms?

Material on the Permanent Debris Boom

How are permanent booms connected together? What are they made of?

permanent debris boom
Thank you for your inquiry! The Permanent Floating Boom is designed for long-lasting use and is constructed from 1/4 inch PVC belting. This belting has been treated with algaecide that is added to help the boom maintain a long life in the water without breaking down. While this is the standard material that is used for this debris boom, many other materials are available. For instance, another material that might work better for your conditions is our orange urethane PTMEG belting fabric. This type of material can offer more visibility to your barrier if it will frequently be coming into contact with people.

These permanent debris booms are connected together using marine grade ASTM connectors. These connectors have either a quick connect Z or universal slide, depending on your preferences or conditions. Also included in this barrier are high impact flotation devices that are fixed to the top of the structure. These floats offer a high level of visibility and can withstand constant contact with heavier or demanding items.
