Type 3 Barrier for River with Large Current?

Type 3 Barrier Conditions

Hi. I am working on a project in a river that has a current above 1.5 knots. Should I use a Type 3 Turbidity Curtain for these conditions? What else should I consider?

silt barrierHello! Thank you for contacting us! In general, if your current is above 1.5 knots we would recommend the use of a Type 3 Barrier. When you're considering the type of barrier that you need, you mostly want to make sure that the silt curtain you choose can function properly in your conditions. To do this, you want to take a variety of different conditions into consideration including the location of your project, wind speed, and wave heights. You would want to use a type 3 curtain in an area where you have a considerable current, tidal action, or where there is a lot of wind or waves.

If you are unsure about your conditions or would like to talk them over, our team would be happy to assist you in finding the barrier that would best work for your project.
