Oil Boom for Sinking Boat

I am working on a removal and clean up project for a sunken boat that is leaking gas. I was going to look at your silt curtains, but then I saw the oil boom. Are they the same?

Thanks for contacting Granite Environmental. I'd be happy to help. Our oil boom is similar to a silt curtain, but there are some distinct differences.

Our Granite Environmental Oil Booms are OPA 90 compliant and available for calm water, fast current & protected water, or open water situations. Our calm water boom is available in 10, 25, 50 and 100 feet section sizes, our protected and open water booms in 50 and 100 feet only.

Now the silt curtains are made from 18 oz Vinyl for a Standard D.O.T. curtain. These are mainly used to assist in keeping contractors in compliance with the Clean Water Act and NPDES Phase II Regulations.

For your application, I would definitely go with the oil boom. Despite the similar look and feel, the oil boom is going to give you the best performance.
