Sizes and Uses of a Type 1 Silt Barrier

Hi. I am looking for a type 1 turbidity curtain to place in a small lake while we do work. Would this be the correct curtain for this site? What size do they come in?

Hello. Thank you for your inquiry! Our Type 1 Silt Barrier is an economical solution for controlling sediment in a variety of waters. In general, the type 1 curtain will work in your small lake as long as the waters are calm. If your lake has moving water or there is frequently a lot of wind that cause the water to move, you might want to consider a type 2 curtain instead. In general, you want to make sure that your curtain can handle how fast the sediment will be flowing towards the curtain. If the water is moving too fast for the type of silt barrier you have installed, it will be much less effective.

Regardless of type, these silt curtains are available in the standard sizes of sections that are either 50 or 100 feet long and 5 feet wide.
