Do I need an Anchor for a Type 2 Turbidity Curtain?
We are about to start a project using a type 2turbidity curtain. Does this curtain require an anchor to keep it in place? How many anchors do I need?
Thank you for your inquiry. We offer a few different types of anchors including a galvanized steel anchoring system and well as anchors with polypropylene rope. The amount of anchors your turbidity curtain requires depends on the exact water conditions in your project area. If you are in non-tidal water conditions with ten to fifteen (10-15) feet of water depth OR tidal water conditions, we would recommend one anchor every 50 feet. If you are in other types of non-tidal water conditions, you only need one anchor every 100 feet.
Keep in mind that anchors should always be placed on the side upstream of the barrier. This means that if you're in tidal situations, you should place your anchors on both sides of the barrier.
