Type 1 Turbidity Curtain for Small Lake

Small lake Type 1 Turbidity Curtain Question: Can I use a Type 1 Turbidity Curtain in a small lake?

type 1 silt barrier

Thank you for contacting us! The Type 1 Turbidity Curtain can be used in shallow water areas such as lakes or canals, as long as your water velocity and site conditions are not too strong. As a general rule, the the type 1 barrier is meant for calm waters that will not cause too much pressure on the barrier itself.

To determine whether or not this type of silt barrier can work in your particular lake, you should consider the velocity of your water, the amount of wind in your area, and various other site conditions such as the silt you are controlling. For any type 1 silt curtain, you will want the velocity to be very low or less than one foot per second. You will also want your area to have light or no wind, as wind can often increase speeds and cause more movement around the barrier.
